Normal Force Kit for Bond Strength Shear Test

Tack coat quality plays an important role in the performance of pavement structures.  Some think that the shear capacity of tack coat should be tested with a normal force applied to the shear plain to represent vehicle loading.  Pine’s Tack Coat Bond Strength Shear Fixture allows for the application of a normal force to the shear plane using this Normal Force Kit.

The kit includes one (1) assembly for the application and measurement of a force normal to the shear plane.  The kit applies a calibrated force from 0 to approximately 100 pounds.
