GB1 Brovold Calibration Kit

The Pine GB1 Brovold Calibration Kit includes a force calibration kit, a height tube, and block for measuring external angle of gyration.

Re-Certification Interval

Pine recommends an initial 12-month calibration interval and 24 months thereafter for the Force Calibration Kit and a 24-month calibration interval for the Height Tube.  Because AASHTO R18 does not specify the re-certification interval for measurement standards, AASHTO adopts the recommendation of the manufacturer.

ISO 17025-Certified Calibration

AASHTO R18-17 Section 6.2.1.5 requires a Pine force calibration kit calibrated on or after April 13, 2017 to be calibrated by a laboratory that is ISO 17025-certified to calibrate it according to ASTM E74.  The same AASHTO standard section requires Pine Height Tubes calibrated on or after January 1, 2018 to be calibrated by a laboratory that is ISO 17025-certified to calibrate it.  Purchase AASHTO R18 from the AASHTO Bookstore.  Acquire ASTM E74 from ASTM International.

Does the ISO 17025 Requirement Affect Your Calibration Kit?

The ISO 17025 Requirement applies to Pine Calibration Kits that meet ALL of the following requirements.

1. The Force Calibration Kit calibration date is on or after April 13, 2017.
2. The Height Tube calibration date is on or after January 1, 2018.
3. You complete an official calibration or standardization of your gyratory compactor with the kit.
4. Your laboratory holds or is seeking AASHTO accreditation.
